Jakarta, January 23, 2026 — Reeformers host an online masterclass titled “Restoration that Returns Value” on January 23, 2026, from 16:00 to 18:00 WIB, spotlighting how environmental conservation can generate tangible economic benefits for coastal communities.
Organized by Reeformers, the session presented the organization’s coral transplantation initiative, co-founded by 14-year-old Ryan Winston Angouw, and its measurable impact on both marine ecosystems and local livelihoods.
The initiative has successfully transformed a once-barren sand flat into a thriving marine habitat by planting 3,000 corals, supporting 220 species, and contributing to income opportunities for more than 190 households in surrounding coastal areas.
The masterclass addressed a critical question at the intersection of conservation and development: How does environmental protection translate into real economic value? Through the Reeformers case study, the presentation explored how strategic environmental investment can create a circular feedback loop—restoring ecosystems while simultaneously strengthening local economic activity.
Beyond ecological outcomes, the session emphasized the importance of youth involvement in driving sustainable solutions. Participants heard how young leaders can help balance planetary health with community well-being in ways that are not only ethical, but also commercially viable.
The event is conducted in English and is open to participants interested in youth empowerment, environmental conservation, and sustainable economic development.
Speaker:
Ryan Winston Angouw, Co-founder, Reeformers
The online event is open for registration and aims to inspire broader collaboration in youth-led conservation efforts that deliver lasting environmental and economic value.
