November 2023 Monitoring Trip Highlights: The Reeformers Team’s Success in Coral Cultivation. During their recent expedition, the Reeformers team achieved a significant milestone by planting 800 coral seedlings across 16 Vertical Artificial Reef (VAR) units. Each VAR, ingeniously designed with one vertical and eight horizontal pipes to mimic a tree’s branching structure, was populated with 50 uniform coral seedlings, underscoring their commitment to focused breeding efforts. This initiative has impressively increased the total count of corals cultivated by the Reeformers in Manado to 2,560, marking a substantial contribution to marine conservation.
