In an inspiring act of marine conservation, 300 coral fragments were planted beneath the waters of Malalayang Beach, Manado, North Sulawesi. This initiative was led by Reformers, a non-profit organization dedicated to ocean conservation and coral reef restoration.
The coral planting was carried out in collaboration with local diving communities and received significant support from the Indonesian fan club of South Korean actor Bionusok, who adopted all 300 coral fragments for this project. With this effort, the total number of corals planted at Reformers Reef has now reached 3,000 fragments.
This activity is part of Reformers’ broader mission to rehabilitate coral ecosystems that have been damaged by climate change and unsustainable human activities. By restoring coral reefs, Reformers aims to protect marine biodiversity and promote the long-term sustainability of Indonesia’s ocean environments.
“The ocean thanks you,” — a simple yet powerful message that represents the collective impact of communities, organizations, and supporters across the globe.
The collaboration between Reformers, the local diving community, and international supporters like Bionusok’s fan club is a shining example of how anyone, anywhere, can contribute to meaningful environmental change.
