On March 10, 2023, Reeformers’ Co-Chair, Widya Budisantoso, was invited to speak at @america, an American Center under the United States Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia to celebrate International Women’s Week and the remarkable impact of Women in Conservation.
“Break the societal barriers that prevent others from devoting themselves in climate solutions, be it race, religion, or gender.
We all have a role in building the kind of future we are heading to. Our actions add up. Let us work for a world where we won’t have to ask what it’s like being a woman working in conservation—a future where conservation projects won’t be highlighted just because women lead them. To get to that day, we must elevate the women doing amazing conservation work so that other women will realize, “they can do that, too.”
