Rafael is the Founder of Reeformers. Currently, he is a high school senior in Jakarta Intercultural School. As a young ecopreneur, he started Reeformers in order to create a positive impact in the field of ocean conservation as well as uplift coastal communities in Malalayang, North Sulawesi.
Rafael was selected as a Youth Delegate for the United Nations World Oceans Day 2023 Conference in New York. He has also been invited to become a speaker/presenter at various national and international events: Catalysing Change Week 2023 by Catalyst 2030, Indonesia Annual SDG Conference 2022, and SDG Youth Forum Java-Bali. Aside from Reeformers, Rafael also serves as a Program Officer of Laut Indah, a ocean conservation service club in Jakarta Intercultural School that aims to protect Indonesia’s oceans through coral transplantation, cleanups, and community awareness.
In the future, Rafael wants to work in the financial industry, specifically in investment banking. However, he also wants to be involved in the sustainable energy business sector. In order to become successful, he believes that an essential step is to attend a top university where he can promote his home country in an international network as Indonesia is rich in sustainable energy resources. Rafael hopes to attract as many people as possible from other parts of the world to invest in Indonesia’s green economy sector in hopes that it will not only create a huge positive impact on the environment but also improve Indonesia’s economic growth.
